MATTHEWS ON THE MOVE...THE SAGA CONTINUES
Well, if you read my incredibly whiny post from last time, you know that we have been trying to sell our home and move to Lexington. We have wanted to move to Lex to further outreach to those outside of the church, be more hospitable, be involved in community activities more and are praying for a lot of Kingdom opportunities to happen as a result.
Well we had two offers on houses fall through. But later found out there were issues with each so God was really going ahead and protecting us. Last week, we finally received an offer on our house, contingent on us moving by July 20th. Yeeks, better find a house quick! Well, the perfect house for us came on the market just in time for us to snap it up - right size, great location, vacant already so we can move right in and right down the street from our friends the Ruths. We had prayed that we could find a house near to church members to partner together for outreach and God did it.
There are a few more hurdles, aka inspections, that need to be done before we will know for sure that we have it. But it has been great to see God's faithfulness despite my impatience, whinyness and general stupidity.
Another minor miracle is also that the boys want to move to this house. Rees, our seven year old, has stubbornly even prayed against us moving, but he was on his knees extra long during prayer time on Sunday. When he was done, I asked him if he had a lot of sins to confess. He widened his eyes at me and said, "I was praying that God gives us the house near the Ruths." From the mouths of babes...that was a minor miracle right there. Make it so, Jesus.
We'll keep you posted. (No pun intended..)
