BIRTHDAY

Today's my birthday. I keep telling people I am turning 29 (It's not technically lying if no one believes you, right?)

On the way to school this morning, 8 yr old son and I were singing happy birthday songs to me. So, I said something about how happy I was to be 29 again. (He knows how old I am really.) He laughed and then said -"Well, I think you look like you're 27." "AH, Rees, that is the nicest thing I have heard in a long time, I say, Thank you so much for saying that - it makes me feel like I am not really so old, etc., etc." He kind of wrinkles his nose at me and pops my bubble by saying, "Well, 27 is still kind of old."

Yeah, right. Thanks for nothing, kid.

Anyway, this made me laugh all the way home and gave me a funny story to share for my birthday. That's a good birthday present, too.
